Lovin’ the sun!
Today I finally went to the dermatologist. My sister was diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer 4 years ago, hasn’t had anything since which is good, but it should never have happened. I was the one who use to go tanning, up untilĀ 4 years ago that is. I was the one who didn’t wear the 50 SPF, up until 4 years ago that is. I am still the one that loves to soak up the sun. Today, I had four spots removed in order to see if cancer exists in my body. I am hoping and praying it hasn’t soaked in with the sun, or the fake sun! I guess that these things can be a wake up call, right? I had a student’s dad who died this summer from the orginalities of skin cancer, it spread to everywhere, shutting down organs, attack his brain, but he still had so much love out there for everyone. I want to, on his behalf and the behalf of all those with skin cancer, those who have died with skin cancer, those who fear their biopsy results of skin cancer, that WHITE is the NEW TAN!!! So, while lovin’ the sun can be amazing, love yourself and slather on that SPF 50, wear a hat, stay out of the sun, wear more than that teeny, weeny, itsy, bitsy, yellow polka dot bikini! Do it for yourself, your children, your spouse, your parents, your friends, do it because you care!
