Who should suffer from this chaos?
“More than a repudiation of Democrats, Frank said, Republicans’ refusal to vote for the bailout was a rejection of their own president. “
“The Republicans don’t trust the administration,” he said. “It’s a Republican revolt against George Bush and John McCain.”
In her speech, Pelosi had assailed Bush and his administration for reckless economic policies.
“They claim to be free market advocates when it’s really an anything-goes mentality: No regulation, no supervision, no discipline. And if you fail, you will have a golden parachute and the taxpayer will bail you out. Those days are over. The party is over,” Pelosi said.
“Democrats believe in a free market,” she said. “But in this case, in its unbridled form, as encouraged, supported, by the Republicans — some in the Republican Party, not all — it has created not jobs, not capital. It has created chaos.”
This is all news coming straight from Washington DC after the $700 BILLION bailout was rejected by the house. Who should suffer from this turmoil? I uphold that this is definitely a revolt against George Bush, but not sure about John McCain. The vote, as close as it was, unfortunately was a vote in a VERY important election year! Were our nations leaders playing politics with the nations economy? I think so! I can’t say that I am a huge fan of the bailout myself, but I’d rather our leaders think about WHAT is IMPORTANT, rather than… “will my constituents vote for me if they somehow, for some reason decide to read exactly who voted what way in this MAJOR bill?” Truth is leaders, the majority, and by that I mean people other than me, who is completely obsessed with politics, do not go and find out how exactly my senator or my representative voted on one specific bill. Truth of the matter is, most people who will vote in this election have learned what they know about our candidates by word of mouth, the horrible commercials, watching/hearing what the liberal media has to say, or even watching SNL.
While I don’t think this is the best solution for our country, something still needs to be done, and done now. It is mass chaos, and it needs to be fixed!
Apparently, and this is one of my favorites for today, no one agreed with McCain (Shock! I know!) “This is something all of us will swallow hard and go forward with.”
